Is Yancey Foote guilty or not

The main Character in Football Fugitive is Larry. He writes letters to his football hero Yancey Foote of the Green Bay Packers. Larry doesn't receive any letters from Yancey. When Larry's dad was picking up the New York Times at a magazine shop. Larry saw a magazine that the headline said, " Yancey Foote good guy, or bad guy.'' The first page said that Yancey beat up a guy one hundred pounds lighter than him and ran out of town. Yancey wasn't found until Larry found him. The next day was Friday, October 26, was the day Yancey had to go to court. The court was also on the day of Larry's last game of the season the Digits against the Crickets. Larry won the game against the Crickets 21-14. After the game Larry saw Yancey and his Dad. Larry's Dad was Yancey's lawyer. Larry walked up to his Dad with his friend Greg, who is deaf. Larry's Dad said, " I'm glad I saw this one.'' That's what Larry wanted his Dad to do through the whole book. "We won too.'' Larry's dad continued. The Theme in Football Fugitive is, if someone wants you to do something do it if it is important to you.

Great Story for Kids

A superstar football player who is idolized by a fan becomes a fugitive to the game of football by beating somebody up and eventually going to court.
It's an exciting mystery thriller with a happy ending that teaches valuable lessons that kids will enjoy, I give it five stars and I'm Marvin P. Ferguson, author of Boys On The Gold Coast.

Excellent book

This is book is written very well. Starts you off by thinking its a regular sports drama but it really isn't. The football isn't the only thing in this story. The dad also a lawyer is incredible and so is the football player. You should at least rent this if not buy it

Great Book for the Beginning Taper

This is an amazing book for those interested in beginning kinesiology taping and / or the benefits that it can provide. Before giving any specifics about taping, or mentioning tape at all, the author does a great job laying out the basics of movement, muscles, and anatomy. While this is not the focus of the book, these introductory sections are well-written and very helpful to anyone who is not an expert. Kim takes the same care and effort when getting to the taping itself, and helpfully lays out the general uses, benefits, and best buying practices of the tape itself. I love how she tells the reader how to use the tape before giving any 'recipes' on how to use it. This does not mean the specific taping practices are sub-par in any way. The taping sections are divided based upon body area (head, foot, etc.) and are clearly laid out, and the instructions are accompanied by detailed and helpful pictures. After trying some of the tapes out, especially in the lower back area, I was feeling better, and generally had less fatigue in those areas. Recommended for those looking to get into taping, but who don't need an exorbitant amount of information.

I would highly recommend this book

I would highly recommend this book! Regardless if it's for rehab or just injury prevention - this book - and taping in general - is someting that I believe everyone should invest in. This book is written for anyone at any intelligence level to understand. It was recommended to me by a chiropractor who was just starting to introduce me to taping, and I am so glad tht I picked this book up. It really does an amazing job in restoring your power in restoring your body. For me, it was a great book that allowed me to manage some of my issues without being so dependent on my chiropractor. I don't know about you but I don't like paying $90 an office visit, twice a week. This book certainly doesn't remove my need to see a chiropractor but what it does do is it allows me to do my own taping at home which without a doubt has helped me. I love how simple this book was to understand. I do wish it had a little bit more color but if you're not going to use color, tihs book is as good as you can get. The format was easy to read and I truly enjoyed the step by step instructions it gives you. I get extremely anxious when I read things that don't have specifics and this book was AMAZINGLY detailed with its instructions. Take the time to read the basic terms and before you begin sections - it will make (or breaK) the experience of the rest of this book for you. As a newbie, I needed someone background info and this book did a great job of doing that. Definitely useful to help with some pains I've been having issues with. I do recommend though, that you use this book in conjunction with a massage therapist, chiropractor (this book came recommended from mine) etc.

Tape it right, tape it tight(ish)

This is a great book to use as a reference for Sports Medicine or even for personal use to reduce pain.
The very first thing I noticed was the coverage of the basics. I always see athletes taped up and assumed they were using some designer tape, when in most cases the athletic trainer had just rounded off the edges. Makes perfect sense, in order for the tape to stick better and help with fraying.
I never knew there were so many different ways to tape. I normally see a shoulder, wrist or a knee tape, but author Aliana Kim gives us the full range of possibilities. Headaches, TMJ, menstrual cramps, tricep strain, groin pain, sciatica, and even nasal congestion.
The steps on how to apply tape are detailed and thorough. If tape needs to be applied in different directions, the tape is shown in different colors so it is clear to the reader. Kim also includes picture examples for every condition listed in the book.
Overall, I’m happy with the book. It’s filled with resources that I can flip back to when needed and that I can pass along to friends.

About the Author
Howard M. Schwartz, PhD, received his B.Eng. Degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in une 1981 and his MS Degree and PhD Degree from MIT, Cambridge, USA in 1982 and 1987 respectively. He is currently a professor in systems and computer engineering at Carleton University, Canada. His research interests include adaptive and intelligent control systems, robotic, artificial intelligence, system modelling, system identification, and state estimation.

Steven Lawson's book on what the book of Revelation says about heaven is a helpful exposition and will give the reader a biblical perspective about the eternal home that awaits the Christian. Trust Lawson's theology, but don't trust his math. On page 128 he does some calculations concerning the size of the New Jerusalem. Though he get's the square miles right, his assertion that there would be enough room for every person who has ever lived to have 200 square miles doesn't add up. I don't know who calculated the number he came up with, but if you take 2,250,000 square miles and divide it by 200 square miles that would mean only 11250 people would inhabit the New Jerusalem. Maybe he was using new math.

In More Kinds of Being E. J. Lowe, one of the world's most distinguished contemporary metaphysicians, thoroughly reworks and expands upon the philosophical concepts first put forth in his acclaimed book Kinds of Being(1989). Taking into account significant developments in his metaphysical thinking over the past 20 years, Lowe delves deeper into the fundamental ontological categories into which all existing entities fall. While this new volume strengthens and extends many of his original arguments, Lowe's focus remains on the category of kinds or sorts and their individual instances - the latter being persisting objects, which exist at every level of the spatial scale from galaxies to atoms and include, as an especially important case, persons such as ourselves. He proceeds to show that while an object of one sort is occasionally constituted by, but not identical with, an object of another sort, persons appear not to be constituted by anything, making them special among the beings that populate the universe. About the Author

E.J. Lowe (1950-2014) was Professor of Philosophy at the University of Durham. One of the foremost metaphysicians working in philosophy during his time, he was the author of numerous influential articles and books in metaphysics, philosophy of mind and the history of philosophy, including Kinds of Being (Blackwell, 1989) and, more recently, The Four-Category Ontology: A Metaphysical Foundation for Natural Science (2006).

Superb detailed examination of the "Kind" category of the "four category ontology"

There are many ways to look at this book. Lowe himself says that it is a complete rewrite of "Kinds of Being" (1989) following the further development of his metaphysics. In a way this new version of the book stands as an addendum to Lowe's "The Possibiliy of Metaphysics" (1998), "The Four Category Ontology" (2005), and to a lesser extent "Personal Agency" (2008) and "Subjects of Experience" (1998). On another view, it is a careful and extensive examination of one corner of his four category ontology, specifically the kind, sort, or type of a thing. This category instantiates individual particulars. A horse is an instance of "horse kind" for example, and "horse kind" is something real and must exist (particularly as it is a "natural kind" because in Lowe's metaphysics there can be no "bare particulars". No thing in the universe exists that isn't also a thing of some kind.

Lowe uses this book to explore how it is that we identify various kinds including the natural (and physical) ones like animals and rocks along with arti-factual kinds like tables and statues. He also gets into abstract kinds like numbers, sets, and propositions. He spends a chapter examining the very unusual kind we call persons, unusual because it seems oddly un-analyzable to Lowe who argues that it is a simple basic type and must (should) be granted an ontological category of its own, unique among the furniture of the universe.

Lowe explores all of this in his own easy-going delightful style. Indeed his prose here has a casualness to it. Almost as though having done so much of the ground work in his other books, he can afford here to spend his time refining. Not that you must have read the others to understand this one. Lowe's context is always clear enough, and he takes time to introduce necessary preliminaries before diving into each separate subject focused always on the sortal category: differences in existence and identity criteria for different kinds how we recognize them and their status in the world independent of consciousness.

There is one technical chapter (late in the book) in which he introduces FSL, a "formal sort language", a first-order predicate logic with a few extra symbols. He uses FSL (lightly) in the remainder of the book to explicate some of the finer nuances of his arguments.

I admit I am a Lowe fan, a fantastic writer and an under appreciated philosopher who passed away (early 2014 I believe) far too young. No contemporary metaphysician should be without a good grounding in Lowe's work.
