Short, lighthearted alien mating....sweet but lacking anything satisfying

I don't wish to be cruel, but I'd be really mad if I had purchased this (I have Kindle Unlimited so it was 'free' for me). This was a very short story and it ended before it even got started. Basically, a woman travels to the planet to experience their culture and write about it for Earth readers. She isn't met by the Princess as was prearranged. They don't tell her she's now going to have two male guides (sorry to apply logic but that is beyond rude and would be a diplomatic nightmare). On top of that faux pas, her two guides are just about to go into mating lust, and there are no protections in place for unmated women....especially visiting Earthers like her. Basically, if a guy in mating lust sees an unmated woman he can claim her...irrespective of her interest or any commitments she might have (like what if she had a boyfriend back on Earth)? Once she is a target to be claimed (that means she's a claim prize), literally any male can fight to claim her. So this poor woman is trapped and it's not a question of IF she'll mate, but whom she will mate.. Again, I don't mean to apply logic to a fantasy, but the cultural consequence of this biological urge would mean that all wealthy and/or politically connected people would sequester their unmated women so they could not come into contact with an unmated male nearing his lust...ever...until the time and place was appropriate. The fact that the princess in this story mates with a commoner (she crossed his path when he was in his mating urge) is ludicrous. No king would let this happen.
Rant over.
Logic aside, we don't get to know the hero or heroines of this story. So when they get together it feels like a hook up, not a love fest. Call me a romantic at heart, but I like a bit of romance to make the chemistry hotter.

Short and sweet, I loved the book. Loved the chemistry of the main characters and I can not wait to read book four of the series. Very enjoyable and keep them coming?
