Too Short ESPECIALLY for the Price Tag

This was a must for me, considering I absolutely LOVE this game. I wanted to purchase the strategy book to help me find EVERYTHING. I considered the price point, and I considered the 60 page guide to be very short. I took the risk, and sure enough, There is VERY LITTLE in this book. Even for someone trying to just figure out the essentials of Little Kings Story, This guide is very misplaced in the gaming universe.

I honestly was really curious as to why this book wasn't on the market at retail stores, and now I know why! Please, everyone tempted by this book, beware that it is only 60 small pages, and it is an extremely large waste of money. I don't wish to hurt anyone with my review, but to help everyone.

WORST STRATEGY GUIDE EVER!

No Idea that when I bought this guide that it would lack even the most basic help like a map. And what was worse that most of the tips for the boss fights were the exact opposite of what I ended up doing to win. I do like the game and hope that a sequel will be made with improvements so you don't have to do tedious things like grinding for money.

This book by Penny Lynch is a master piece in the field of project finance modelling. It is a well written book, following the best techniques to enable you to become a good project finance modeller. It teaches basic ideas such as standardization and robustness in all steps of modelling. The book includes some exercises with the solutions, which are proof of the fine-tuning of Penny. She is also providing courses using the book as a guideline. I strongly recommend buying the book to learn the basic things about Advanced modelling for project finance i.e. circularity issues, using VBA, switching to annual or semi-annual periods, etc. The clarity of the organization of the book and the worksheets in Excel format are a good starting point for a seasoned modeller interested to learn main things. About the Author
After working for more than a decade with the project finance teams of two leading banks in the city of London, and for another eighteen years as an independent consultant, Penny Lynch has been involved in the use of spreadsheets for cash flow modelling since its inception in the early 1980s. Nearly thirty years of subsequent real-world modelling experience has been steadily formalised into a well-defined philosophy and methodology as Penny has concurrently developed and presented a series of international training programs for leading funders, consultants and sponsors. She is ideally placed to understand the practical issues at the heart of project finance modelling, and the practical process of communicating them to new and experienced modellers alike.

Head and shoulders above other Project Finance texts

As a hopeful analyst for a project finance-oriented development firm, I've glanced, skimmed and read multiple books supposedly teaching you how to build financial models. Modelling project finance is not easy task, nor is it one that is easily taught. While there are numerous, excellent texts that teach the reader how to build corporate finance models, project finance is a totally different story. Of the PF offerings out there, most are conceptual. Conceptual is good - to a point.

Lynch's Financial Modelling for Project Finance was passed into my hands by a friend, and it is far and away the most organized, concise and reference-able text I've come across. There is absolutely no fluff throughout the entire workbook, but this doesn't necessarily make it dry. Lynch does an excellent job of telling you what you need to do, why you need to do it, and to implement it in the model.

One of the most valuable takeaway's I've had so far has been the continual emphasis on how to create timelines and counters in the "work" worksheet, which allow accurately timed calculations for every other aspect of the model (Capex, Financing, Ops, etc).

Along with the workbook, the purchaser gains access to a set of spreadsheets that range from fully built models to various exercises in constructing or solving them in order to hone your skills. These models and exercises revolve around one specific case study: a water treatment project. While this may not be specifically the industry you'd plan to work in, the case study is sufficiently complex enough to illustrate any and all conventions required to build out a project finance model in other industries.

The best part about the case study is that it actually puts you in the role of the financial analyst. The first exercise gives you notes of a meeting about the project that your firm receives an invitation to bid for. It grants the analyst limited information and requires you to build a base analysis around limited information. The exercises get subsequently more complex, and by the time I was finished with them, I felt beyond prepared to apply what I'd learned to any other project-finance oriented solution.

A last point, the organization of this book truly shines. Every section is referenced, every chapter that might require background from another chapter is referenced, you know exactly where to find things when you need to find them.

The price tag on this book is hefty, and I didn't have to pay it. With that said, I plan to once I land a job using the skills I've developed from this book - its worth every penny. Lastly, it might be noted that I emailed the author with various questions, and woke to them answered in full the next morning, with the generous offer to answer any further questions that may arise in my practice and studying.

Who's Who?

P.G. Wodehouse was a master of humorous storytelling. Best known for his works about Jeeves and Wooster, his stories that do not focus on these famous characters are just as entertaining - if not more so. "If I Were You" is a laugh-out-loud funny tale of two men having been switched at birth and trying to figure out if amends can be made almost thirty years later.

Tony Droitwich, the Earl of Droitwich, leads a happy-go-lucky existence and has just proposed to a rich young woman who will help shore up the Droitwich foundation. His Aunt Lydia and Uncle Herbert couldn't be more pleased. If only it wasn't for Tony's former nanny, Ma Price, and her impudent son Syd; for Syd is an annoying socialist barber in the making, and Nannie Price threatens to tell everyone the truth about the two boys - that Syd is the true Earl of Droitwich and that Tony is her son. Pressed against a wall, the family decides to give Syd a try, hoping to make the prospect of being an earl so hateful to him that he will give up his claim. Tony, meanwhile, fills in at Syd's post in the barber shop and finds himself liking the simpler life. Will things work out for the happiness of both parties?

"If I Were You" is a fast-paced and enjoyable read. Just when it seems that all dastardly plots have been achieved, Wodehouse springs a new twist at the reader. While definitely dated, or more like encapsulated in time, Wodehouse's humor is timeless and efervescent. It is a great find for those who can lay their hands on a copy of this rare comic work.

P.G. Wodehouse is like vintage champagne

Reading P.G.Wodehouse is like going through life after drinking two glasses of champagne. His world is one where everyone would like to live, he is as absurd and as hilarious as life itself. His stories make one giggle; they take one back to that place where everything turns out right, the same state of mind one had when one was five years old. He is as light as a feather, yet his command of the language is uncanny. Wodehouse is addictive!

Me Scissors is Me Sweetheart

This novel is subtitled "Ye Old Baby Switcheroo," and the publisher doesn't mind giving away this much of the plot: "Twenty-eight years later, the son of a barber is now an earl, and the son of an earl is now a barber." So the dual themes are "hair restoration and heir restoration." If that sounds witty and droll, it's a good introduction to the rest of the book. This is an oversized, paperback, large-print edition from the oddly-named publisher, International Polygonics (IPL). I don't think a smaller font version exists in paperback. In the preface D.R. Benson says that If I Were You makes use of a bit of plot from W.S. Gilbert (as in Gilbert and Sullivan), and the sense of theatre runs throughout. Add "enter stage right" and "exit stage left" in a few places and you'd have a corking good play. Add singing and you'd have a sprightly musical. For fans who enjoy seeing Plum's "other life" in musical comedy creep into the books.

Required Reading for Skin Care Professionals

Dr. Obagi is truly a master of peels and pigmentation. I have admired him for many years. This book is a must read for all skin care professionals, aestheticians and physicians. He has put together the definitive manual for treating the skin based on decades of personal experience and his novel philosophy that has evolved over time. The before and after photographs of real patients are compelling and demonstrate that his approach offers unique benefits, for even the most difficult and challenging patients.

I have reviewed parts of the book and in it Dr. Obagi, my dad, shows his continued leadership and preemenence in dermatology. With his second textbook which took about 3 years to write, Dr. Obagi proves that he not only broke ground when he developed products that treat all skin types, but that he continues to lead the way in dermatology - by literally writing, and updating the book on the subject.

I am a Licensed Esthetician and I have been practicing medical grade skin care since 2003, working in the different medical offices under plastic and cosmetic surgeons. I have been using the original Obagi NuDerm Skin Care products with great success for a long time. Finding out this year that Dr. Obagi wrote a book about skin health was thrilling. It starts with the basics, but goes on into details, explaining a lot of skin issues of the modern times and generously shares his experience on what worked for him to fix it. It is the must read for any practice that specializes in bringing patients skin back to health, preserving its integrity and preventing the further damage.

A Very Basic Book

First, I should say, I do not regret buying this book. Much.

That being said, this is NOT an extremely detailed, wide ranging source on everything capnography. It's an introductory source at best. If you've never used capnography, then it's a great place to start. If you learned about capnography in paramedic school, use it in the field, it's most likely NOT going to add anything to your knowledge base. It will reinforce what you already know. It will strengthen your knowledge by repetition of those facts and giving it to you in other words, another way of explaining it. But it's not going to open your eyes to new, fantastic ways to assess your patients' respiratory status.

If you ALREADY understand capnography and can make basic decisions on the waveforms you see on your monitor, I would recommend considering digging a little deeper in your wallet and getting one of the more expensive but more extensive sources on capnography. I'm already shopping for something else and looking forward to something a little more challenging than this book was.

In review, if capnography is new to you, this is a good book. If it isn't, it might not knock your socks off.

Amazing Parenting Book

I really enjoy the easy nature of this book..real language I can relate to and real issues children face on a daily basis. Quick and easy to reference a multitude of subjects...anger, self-esteem, communication, making friends, and managing stress. I like how the author uses real examples of children trying various solutions until the child finds the one that worked for them. I love how the after school activity plan includes relaxation. Naomi Richards truly combines all of her experiences as a mom and kid's coach in this book. Highly recommended.
